A Fit to Work is a medical assessment done to confirm that an employee is capable of performing the duties of a job with efficiency and competence.

Sick leave is a type of leave in the tertiary field. It’s a period of paid leave of absence for an employee that they can use when they are unwell. Under the Minimum Wage Act of Trinidad and Tobago, permanent or contract employees who fall sick are entitled to a minimum of fourteen days of paid leave.

The Fit to Work assures the employer that the employee is healthy and has the physical and psychological requirements to perform the job.
